Co-ed Nordic Ski Program
January 26 @ 10:00 am - March 2 @ 10:00 am$50
Men & women are invited to join the Co-ed Nordic Ski Program, which is a five week co-ed subset of the Kachemak Women’s Nordic (KWN) program. This course is open to MEN and WOMEN and will focus on skate and (some) classic technique in preparation for the Tour of Anchorage or Homer Marathon. This in an intermediary-level session for skiers who have mastered the basic skate ski movement and want to refine their fitness and technique. Focus will be on learning the V2/V2-alternate, maximizing glide, and improving efficiency across varied terrain.
Dates: January 26nd to March 2nd, 2019; Wednesdays from 12 to 2 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm. The first session is Saturday January 26th from 10-12 PM at Lookout Mt.
Location: announced weekly by email and on Facebook
•Wednesdays: These practices will be a combined group workout for all course participants and Kachemak Women’s Nordic members to build our Nordic ski fitness.
•Saturdays: These practices will include 30-40 minutes of technique instruction. There will be a minimum of two coaches at each Saturday practice to accommodate the group. Technique drills will be followed by a workout highlighting the technique covered in the lesson. There will be different distance-level goals to be skied each week to accommodate different ski interests and abilities. The sessions will focus on preparation for the Tour of Anchorage (so that you will be in “peak” fitness for the race) but you don’t need to race, or be a member of KWN.
Program fee is $50, payable by cash or check the first day of the session. Free for existing KWN members.
