Women’s Nordic Beginner Group

KNSC 2011-2012 MEMBERSHIP FORM

This group will meet for 4 Saturday sessions this year, from 11:00am-12:30pm on Dec 10, 17 and January 7 and 14.  The cost is $100 for the entire course and the course limit is 40 students.  Instructors will be women from Homer Women’s Nordic.  There are two groups who this clinic is suitable for:

A) If you are a woman who is totally new to cross-country skiing, this clinic is perfect for you.  You must provide your own equipment, but it can be rented for a very reasonable rate at Homer Saw and Cycle.  Beginners should come to the clinic on diagonal stride (classical) skis, NOT skate ski equipment.  Waxless ski are the easiest, but skis that need kick wax are just fine, also.  Ski shops can help you out with this.

B)  If you have experience on diagonal striding skis and feel comfortable and balanced on them, but would like to learn to SKATE, this is also a perfect group for you.  Again, you must supply your own equipment which you can rent at Homer Saw and Cycle or perhaps “demo” from Chain Reaction sports at Ulmers.

The registration deadline for HWN Beginners is December 5. Program participants need to be current KNSC members. Both forms are available at the top of this page.
